Five Points Anger Management Group for Children (age 6-10) and adolescents (age 11-18)
This is an open group that will focus on guiding individuals through activities that will help them assess the dynamics of their interpersonal relationships. Through exploration and practice individuals will learn coping strategies and will be provided with tools to appropriately navigate feelings of anger. For students with difficulties managing their anger during the school day, this is an alternative to suspension. For school related discipline, participants would be required to attend 6 sessions and will receive a certificate of completion.
Group will be held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 4pm-5:30
The group will be held at 427 Moreland Avenue NE, Suite 300
The contribution is $50 per person for each group
Group Objectives:
At the end of this group individuals will be able to use critical thinking skills to analyze conflict in a systematic way. Individuals will be able to understand the concept of empathy through examining the perspectives of individuals and groups in conflict. Individuals will be able to develop and implement problem solving skills. Individuals will be able to utilize self-directed techniques to better manage feelings of anger.
